What are you guys using? I came across this one for a decent price, $40 off until the end of the month. Pros or cons of this design? 4" wide belt and a 6" disc sander.

That seems like a nice one...only thing that happened to me was the disc sander ??? I tried using it and half of disc well it worked really well on the wood and the other half of the disc is turning the opposite direction and tore up the wood... I used a friend of mines before I bought one, I am going to sand it the old fashioned way Manually...haha

I like it. I have been looking at them at Harbor Freight. They are cheap there. I'm not sure if I would use the disc sander option? Right now I clamp my belt sander upside down in my vise and use it for sanding. This is the cheapest since I already have the sander. But it would look more professional if I had one like you pictured.

You can pick these up for $59 with a coupon or catch it on sale for that price - http://www.harborfreight.com/4-inch-x-36-inch-belt-6-inch-disc-sander-97181.html

I have the Ryobi version, must have tool for me. I also added a Delta oscillating sander from Harbor Freight. Couldn't imagine shaping a car without them.

I very much agree. I have the HF version of this sander and a home-made oscillating sander and between the two can do any shaping I need in very short time. This is of course before I put one of my LOUSY paint jobs on the car !

Hey theres an idea...Put the paint on first and then sand it quadad hahaha
blah

I have the HF version. Works ok. I really only use 4 inch belt with 80 grit to sand blocks down to desired thickness (around 1/4 inch). Disc works ok for fenders to get close (balsa or sugar pine), then I turn it off and do by hand to finish up shape. My only complaint is that shop vac "sucks" so hard on belt side that it slows down belt some and still sawdust goes EVERYWHERE!

Looks just like my Rockwell belt/disc sander that I use and does a good job for shaping blocks after rough cut on my band saw.
