Hi all,

Son and I are working on this years car. Last year he missed 3rd overall in pack due to a two way tie for 3rd with a tiger.

Attached are District and Council rules including 2017 and 2018. Trying to see if a bent axle is allowed, if not is there a way to adjust the DFW as a runner. I’m looking and have determined that I can drill canted rears but concerned about front. Thanks!

It doesn't specifically say no bending but I think they would consider this changing the shape of the axle so I probably wouldnt bend the axle. However there are good alternatives - the BSA axles arent straight anyway - find one that is the most unstraight and use that as your DFW axle. Or you could drill your DFW axle hole at an angle to help it have built in steer. There are jigs out there that were built for this very purpose for scout races when axles cant be bent. Gonna be hard to tune the axle though because it sounds like you cant cut a groove in the axle head to change the steer with a screwdriver

I would most certainly use a bent axle under that (very poor) ruleset, but there are jigs to drill the body to do the same. :)

As for the steering groove in the axle head, you can probably just leave a sizable wheel gap on the DFW, enough to set the steer using axle pliers, then push in to set gap.
