Sentimental or not?

I've noticed something while I surf eBay looking at Pinewood Derby stuff. I notice there are several listings of people selling their cub scouts winning cars. Call me sentimental, but I plan on holding onto my son's cars and then giving them to him when he is old enough to appreciate the nostalgia of his days racing as a scout. My parents did that and I still have my 30year old car thanks to them. I think I would have been pissed if my parents sold mine. Am i off base thinking like that? Or am i bordering on being a hoarder? /images/boards/smilies/confused.gif

Totally agree- if the kids don't want the cars after they grow up, Wait for grand kids- I guarantee they will get a kick out of them.

We don't sell our cars, but at the same time not very many of them have weight or wheels in them anymore.

Those ppl are the ones that son's never even touched the car except when they're holding their trophy beside it. Dad did all the work and the son had no say or help in any step of the process so there's no sentimental value to them.

we've kept all of our kid's cars. since we've always used lead up to this point and stock wheels, there's nothing to salvage. Often times i'll take last years cars to run when setting up the track. In the first couple of years, we were running my 30 year old scout cars.

Two sad parts in ebay cars. First, someone thinks they're doing someone a favor by selling. Second, someone else doesn't have the confidence or is too lazy to help their son or daughter build one.

Also a very sad truth. Those who have totally missed the point of life.

The main reason I got involved and active building and racing here is because it was rumored an upcoming tigers older siblings that came before us were buyers instead of builders.

The time we've spent as a family doing PWD- Priceless

Some where on the forum is a post of our cars when we were scouts. I still have my cars and my kids cars and now my daughter is wanting
to get into this, here is her drawing for her first car Kinda cool... how could anyone ever sell this??
