ok anybody that was the first to get the new Silver Bullet Extreem care to give me their honest thoughts on this tool?

There was more conversation about drill jigs on another thread although I cant remember which one. Based on those conversations I ended up ordering the SB Xtreme.

My takeaway from those conversations was that using a jig like the SB Xtreme doesn't guarantee a perfect drill every time, but it's as good if not a little better than other methods like the original Silver Bullet or The Block. The main difference would be ease of setup and use.

Keep in mind though that I'm NOT SPEAKING FROM PERSONAL EXPERIENCE. I haven't received or used mine yet. Just passing along a condensed version of the information I got... Hope it helps, but don't go slapping down your $200 based on what I'm saying.

Just got the SB Xtreme and was surprised how much higher the 0 degree holes are than the 3 degree. Is the theory that I'll be putting a significant bend in the FDW which will compensate?

Yes, the front holes need to be drilled higher because the rear wheels are canted and the front will have a bent axle. I'd suggest playing with the amount of bend on the front axle until the front and rear of the car are the same height off the track

Is rake something that the pros have always paid attention to? I have a SB Pro and it drills both front and back 1/8 high. The front ride height is 9/16 and the rear is 1/2. I’m sure aero wise this is less than ideal. Are you guys all playing with the amount of bend in the steering axle?

I played with the amount of bend for awhile but now that I found what matches my drill, I just leave my axle bender wheee it's at and don't change it's adjustment.
