Silver Bullet

DD4H did just move across the country, maybe he is looking for a new machine shop to make them locally . Only a guess.

Thanks John. Sounds good.

Any improvements for the new version such as compartment for storing canting pins and drill bits etch as was suggested in some other thread.

Will keep any eye on the site.

One other question on the silver bullet. If I have a car that is already built and uses slots is there any reason I can't put it on the block to drill holes for better canting than the bent axles I have on it for pack race.

You can, but some guys have had trouble with the drill bit deflecting when trying to drill into the existing slots. It's safer to drill just above the slots, deepen the slots to intersect the holes, and then trim off the bottom of the car but you said your car is already built so that may not be an option in your case. If you try to drill into the existing slots feed it slow with the drill spinning 2800-3000 rpm. Try a couple spare blocks first, check the alignment, and make sure you have the process down before you try it on your car.

Looks like the SB is sold out. Are they made every so often and will become available again anytime soon? I'm new and would like one so I don't have to worry about messing up the axle holes on a drill press, etc.

Sorry any confusion, I'm looking for a SB pro (I guess). I'll have to search and find the difference between them but figure SB Pro is the current version.

Really would like to get my hands on a SB Pro. Maybe I'll just grab "The Block" from jewkes and try that out till SB Pro is available again. The clear jig looks pretty neat too
