Hey Guys,

I have been reading so much great info and advice on this site. You are a great bunch of guys that always treat each other with respect, encouragement and kindness. This is a rare thing in the on-line world. Kudos to you!!

You guys all seem to agree that a "Silver Bullet" is the "must have" tool for getting proper alignment. But, I can't find where to purchase one. I learned that DD4H has recently moved and therefore may not be making them anymore or at least not for some time.

So, what do you guys suggest? Do I go for the "The Block" or are there other alternatives? Anybody have an old Silver Bullet they want to sell?

Thanks,
GD

I'll try to help you out. Everyone is ether at the mid-American or heading that way.
I think DD4H is in the process of making a new and improved silver bullet. So I'm not sure when it will be out.
I haven't heard much about the block. I'd ask how square it was before buying. I've seen people use machinists 1-2-3 blocks. You can search for it. I have seen many different methods on different boards. In the end I decided to make my own.

The key is to use something that you know is flat and square to hold the wood to drill. Because the wood alone isn't accurate.
