It seems like every car I try to get ready for this month's race slows down. I have went as far as new "lighter" wheels with new axles prepped as shown by the best but every one of them have went from slow to slower by as much as.020. I am going insane. Any advice or recommended doctors will be appreciated. Just had to vent for a minute, thankyou and have a wonderful weekend.

I understand the importance of clean axles, i keep my magnifying glass handy but i dont think that is my problem. I cant help but feel like im just not doing something right, im sure i will figure it out eventually. I even got some unexpected help in the basement tonight, looks like i may have me a personal axle polisher!

Use 2000 grit sand paper to clean your wheels. If this don't help you may have bent an axle.

I have been using a 4000 grit pad, should i step down to 2000? One of my biggest concerns is the amount of oil i am using on my axles, i worry that im not using enough. My other concern is the washers, i am going to try gluing them to the body this morning. Oh yeah and the gap between the wheel and the body, i should have never made so many gauges i am driving myself crazy with them!

2 drops is all you need, will last for months with 2 drops.

I bought a X45 magnifying glass with a light to replace my X17.
I was shocked at how many small fibers I had been missing.
even compressed air didn't remove them.
So I now bathe them in alcohol, then compressed air, then Jigaloo.
All this in a much cleaner room than I used before.
