Solution to Pro/ Amateur Problem(s)

Why is it so necessary to flog this horse to death? Why is it that some just have to keep at it? Do any of you notice that there are some that just go with it?

I feel like rules are rules and I just go with it. If someone gains an advantage over me and beats me with there smarts, I just try all that much harder and I know several guys who do the same.

It's an attitude difference, winners figure out a way to win! This is not a physical game, it's a game of thoughts. This game isn't won by those who are stronger, it's won by those that think they can!

What you see as flogging a horse to death, I see as continuing the discussion. Point. Counterpoint. Rinse and repeat. Given that it is a web forum, where there are many different topics to choose from, I'm puzzled as to why anybody would balk that the debate in a particular thread was unsettled. If it doesn't apply to you, don't read/participate in it.

So...with enough attitude and positive thinking, I can build a car under BASX rules and win in the Eliminator class?

No, I didn't think so, either. Yes, I'm using hyperbole, but the point is that rules matter. As the rules are currently defined in BASX, you can spend some big money on rules-loophole wheels that give a not-insignificant advantage. I'm still waiting for somebody to explain to me how this fits in with the concept of a "low cost, entry-level class."

I thought your current goals were to see how fast you could make stock parts go? Why don't you cross this bridge when you come to it? Or better yet, go complain to the Canadian Parliament about how you don't agree with the taxation of its citizens even though you aren't a citizen neither pay their taxes. It's ridiculous how much you stir the pot but don't participate. Oh ya you can't build a BASX car in a month because it would take up to much family time. You be surprised how much family time you could free up if you quit stirring the pot on a daily basis. Then maybe you could actually build a car and know what your taking about.
 
My BASX wheels cost me less than $10. Those with the proper tools and knowledge one can make the wheels cheap. Is that a good explanation of low cost?

I love how whenever there's an issue at hand that goes back and forth for a bit, people always want to turn it into a debate about me, personally.

It's like there's a little buzzer that sounds. "Time to trot out the variation of the 'You aren't racing, so you don't have a valid opinion' argument." Glad to see we've gotten to that point.

I believe that facts can be debated independently. That is: It doesn't matter who is writing them. They ought to stand on their own.

So if anybody is interested in Vitamin K's personal motivations, they can PM me. Or, even better, start a new thread called "What the **** is wrong with Vitamin K?" And I'll be sure to answer whatever questions you have about me there. But I'm tired of getting off topic in this thread.

In the meantime, let me re-frame the actual question.

"How is the permissibility of a $65, inertia-reduced wheel consistent with the purposes of a class that is meant to be both low-cost and entry-level?"
 
Come on VK, now your just being a D-bag on purpose, you just saw how Joel posted his wheels were only $10 and Kinsers wheels were blue, that shows both racers were Not using the predator wheels and they both finished in the top 5. Like I said before it's not the wheel it's the person behind the prep. I could buy you a pair of those wheels right now to put on your car and you still wouldn't make the top 10. The Basx class was originally suppose to be a entry level class, during that time we were struggling to go sub 3, well you can see from the results yesterday this animal has grown into a full out competition to be the best. It's been the biggest draw the last 2 league races, so it can't be that bad of a class right? I think Joel made a great post, if you stop trolling on forums and just read more, than trying to only listen to your own voice, you would have time for your family and time to build a car. You were able to build a car for the APR race but not here, I wonder why? No I don't I saw your runs!!! Like I said all trophies are earned here. Hell we can't even give you your participation ribbon because you don't participate. Trust us we love your passion but stop acting like a five year old.
 
Just quit with the whinning all the time. I think we just keep feeding your trolling because you're entertaining. I've never heard a guy cry about $65 so much in my life. I think it's cheap, I think it's entry level, and I've seen grown men spend a great deal more on other hobbies. The rules allow you to race this class with out of the box wheels. You're not forced to spent $65! But you ask "How can I win?" You can't until you start racing! I started at the bottom with one car and the cheapest class I could race in. Your going to have to do that too. If you can't afford it, buy the cheap wheels and go from there. If you can't do that disconnect your Internet and focus on buying food. Just quit whinning!
 
Okay... so I have tried to stay out of this... I am done with that.

You know what? I used to try the bent axles, I even tried making my own ! THAT didn't work!

So, I started reading up in here. Guess what... Little tips and tweaks, and my cars got faster. A LOT faster

So, this is my second NPWDRL race... The first one REALLY was off... Did that make me go get other products? Nope. I took the stuff I had and looked at what I was doing, tried a couple of different things sent another car out. There were 47 cars in the race yesterday. Where did I finish? 18th... 18th ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !

Would I like to have been in first ? Hell yeah ! Who wouldn't? Did I expect to be there? No way ! ! ! Why was I not in first? I can tell you right here, right now, it wasn't because I didn't have a certain set of wheels. It was because I still have a lot to learn for this hobby.

In my opinion, if anybody really cares, this thread should have died out a LONG time ago. If you don't like the rules that are in place for the class, don't put a car in.

Here is an idea. If you want to b##ch about a sport or hobby that pushes the limits or looks for gray areas on each race rule, take up NASCAR racing and leave this one alone...

I was happy with my 18th place. VERY happy actually, because now I have a goal for next time.

Jeez. Let it go... (It is like a Chihuahua on an ankle with this thread)

Now, I have to go work on my next setup.

I'm not sure that Joel spending $10 on wheels or Kinser's wheels being blue proves thy weren't on Predator style wheels? Since Joel cuts his own and you can buy vintage BSA's for under $8/set (and they were offered in blue, red, yellow, orange, and black) only the racer knows for sure!

Sure hope the old wheels don't get outlawed any time soon. I just bought another 150 wheels at an auction. Lol

No but it proves you don't have to buy the $65 wheels, my daughter raced on some Basx pro wheels we got from tre and her first time out she averaged 2.970 and as she gets better the more competitive she will get.

Mojo: I'm just trying to remind people of the topic at hand. I wanna talk rules philosophy. People wanna talk about me. I don't get it. Is it not an honest question? Maybe there's a simple answer to it that I'm just not seeing.

Football today has evolved from the original rules that it started with.
NASCAR today has evolved from the original rules that it started with.

Guess what... things evolve and change as they go. Let it go. It seems like a LOT of people were upset by the evolving of the class yesterday with 47 cars entered. If it wasn't the biggest entry count in that class, I am sure it was pretty close.

Be a bigger person and evolve with the game... it does no good wishing for the past.
 
I was mad, i got over it. yesterday i made finals with some old basx pro wheels..I didnt have enough steer in the car it had 2 bad runs in the finals..messed with it after the race and picked up 004 from the run i ran before the race..so maybe i could finish in top 4 with those old wheels..if i wanna win it probably need the 09 wheels, but ss winner didnt run them so thats 2 races in a row in ss class that has been won on new style wheels..so build car and race..you probably not gonna get an answer
