I suppose when you have a car named Smelly Cat and another one named Hoof Hearted that could raise quiet a stink. In round 1 heat 13 of Saturday's Summer Series Smelly Cat raced in the place of Hoof Hearted (watch the vid).

Not a complaint but a friendly constructive criticism to the event hosts.

Perhaps everyone in the back ground talking about everything from someone's grocery list to who shot Cock Robin more focus on the business at hand should be more important.......RRR

But we'll be back.......

But Brian even his 58 best is still slower than any of my passes.
You should be thankful that SCR donated his best run of the day to your cause. ;)
You made the finals and based on your finals average, the mistake didn't hurt you. (this time)

But Brian his 58 best is still slower than any of my passes. Who knows what HH would have laid down ? It could have been an egg or a golden egg. Hopefully a good pass, If so with the breakout I could be sitting in 1st instead of 2nd in the points. Respectfully speaking it matters. Throw a rock into a pack of dogs the only one that yelps is the one that got hit. I got hit. If this was at the dirt track someone would be praying the Larry prayer. LOL

This mistake had no impact on the finishing order in the prelims or in the finals. SCR ran a 2.9558 when it was run in place of your car. You ran a 2.9518 in the same lane in the finals. If you replace the time ran by SCR with your finals time for the same lane your prelim average goes from 2.9531 to 2.9526. This leaves you in the same qualifying position of 3rd place. You qualified and finished exactly as you should have. (You could have set a new track record in that mistaken run and you would have still finished 3rd in qualifying. )

I've had the same mistake happen at the National level, IN THE FINALS. I was denied my run in the fastest lane on the track, with my fastest car. The car that ran in my place was a mid pack car. This dropped my car out of the lead, down into second place. The only saving factor was that the car that moved from second to first was also mine. Rather than rerun the heat, I accepted the National title based on slower car.

This isn’t the first time this has happened & I guarantee it won’t be the last. I’ve seen It happen in both of the leagues I race in & MOST of the time, someone will catch it, text in the mishap & get the rerun. It’s happened to me also. Ya gotta remember, on race day everyone there live is a volunteer & having fun, talking about whatever having a good time. Keep it fun guys, even Dale Earnhardt would say
“Sh#t happens!” Lol!

Ballistic thanks for putting up the kits for us rookies. Way to Cowboy Up. You’re right they’re volunteering while having a good time. Volunteers are the grease that makes things run smoothly. Why not have a cookout or whatever either before or after the race. When it’s race time let’s get serious about handling cars that you, myself and everyone else spent hours building and tuning ?

Winning is important but racing is more important........Dale Sr.

Keep in mind for those working the race and especially those in charge, there's a ton of work before and after the race. We only see the runs. It's already a loooong day for them. All 3 main leagues run in this fashion and during the race is the much needed hangout time. Even at APR they take a lunch break for hang out, chow and jibber jabber. But then when racing continues they still have fun hanging out. It's a long time to be together to try and keep it all business. Its the way they've always done it.

Oopseys happen. It is just a hobby after all... yes one that pays out some moolah but still a hobby for us to have fun with.

Edit: as I read this... I think, yeah a hobby that makes me absolutely nuts as I’m watching my car win or loose by .0001 and spend every waking moment trying to figure out why. Ok so it’s more to us than just a hobby. Had to check myself there.

Mr Jimmmy respectfully speaking just because it’s the way they’ve always it doesn’t fly with me. We pay an entry fee so someone is making money.

We work our hind ends off on these cars in order to race them and should expect a more professionally run presentation.

I was reprimanded for carrying on foolishness on a serious minded site. I’ve cleaned that up and have become more serious. I only expect the same seriousness when people are handling my cars long day or not.

Rant now complete. I still love you as a brother, fellow builder and racer.
