Well I've been working round the clock for about a week planning my new Street Rod. See Below

Really spent a lot of time fabricating and painting. Heck I even clear coated this baby. Tested and tuned tonight.....
wah
. It just doesn't have what it takes to compete. I kind of know whats wrong with it, I just don't have the time to re-engineer before march madness. I'm going to shelve it for now. I wanted to show some pics because it may never see live competition. Major learning curve this go round....I will be back on the track with a Street Rod. I love this division and I hope to be the top dog before it is over. For now I'm going to use it as a learning experience.
 
Actually, I am surprised that you think the car can't compete. It looks good. Thin is good. How did you slim it down? Or is it just the perspective of the photo?
It would seem to me, that once the body and platform is complete, the rest is just wheels, axles, and veer.
Why do you think it is a lost cause.

Remember, this post comes from a person who is perpetually in last place in this class. Maybe what you say can help me figure out my problem.

Opa,

The body has some issues, basically lots of areas for wind to enter during a run. The bottom of the rear end is acting like a parachute. I covered it with tape and it picked of some time but I have a few other issues with the fender areas. Its not a total loss, I learned a lot this go round that will help me improve my next creation.

Now watch, the next up tool for everyone will be a miniature wind tunnel for testing!
 
I really need one those !!!!!! I gonna order me one right now, maybe I'll order two of them !!!!!!!! Maybe John will add them on his store site. I'll wait for that. Or maybe I'll wait for CHRISTMAS.........SPIRIT................
 
Mood posted one on the PWD forum that would work much better for derby cars about 7 months ago. I believe it was about 1,300, not to bad actually.
 
Oh the pains of Street Rod!!! I will be building another soon wont be ready for the March race but maybe April. On my last one I spent about 2 hrs on some inner fenders to keep the air out, and it slowed it down!!! I was not very happy. That's what these cars are all about trial and error.
