Just wanted to take the opportunity to thank all of you for your help and support. On Saturday afternoon, my son Daniel was the overall champion in his district race, completing a year-long quest. There were 66 cars running and none could catch him. In fact, he won all of his races by at least a car length. This was the car that got smashed around (and still won) when our track wasn't assembled properly during his pack race. On Saturday, his car ran like a streamlined butterfly!!!

It was a very special moment for our family, one that we will treasure forever. However, we couldn't have done it without good components and good resources for information. Sadly, this was our last race. My son moves on to Boy Scouts next year. He is also the 2X reigning and defending AWANA Grand Prix champion, but he will graciously step down next year to let someone else get a trophy.

But you haven't heard the last of us. We just might throw together a car one of these days and send one out to get creamed by you guys on the national level.

Also, we have been asked to share our knowledge and experience with the younger scouts and also with the serious AWANA racers. You can be sure Derbydad is gonna get some business from us in the future.

Thanks again to all for the great memories!!

Thats Awesome! I love these kind of stories!!!/images/boards/smilies/thumb.gif

Follow thru with sending your car to one of our races. In the scout class (SS), we have an amateur division.
But be aware. I helped my grandson (B4 I knew about NPWDRL) who lives in the Tucson area, two years ago.
He also won Pack, District and Council, by more than a car length in every race. Someone pointed me in this direction, so we entered the car. We were 36th out of 37 cars. Big wake-up. But I got hooked, and we have been sending in cars ever since.

Great to hear and congrats to you and your son! /images/boards/smilies/smile.gif

If we send a car out to race against you guys, it would be just for the fun of seeing the car race half way across the country on video. We wouldn't have any delusions of actually winning. Unless I enlist the help of my friend who works for Lockheed Martin. He has some space-age stuff at his disposal...........lol

Do it. If you get it in UPS today or tomorrow, it will be in UT by Friday.
