Several of you guys run the SR class and I was wondering if I could see your shipping cartons for these builds. I realize that they all will be different, but I need to get some ideas when building mine. Any pictures would be helpful.

Thanks!

Gravity...It would be really helpful to see your street rod before answering your question HAHAHA

I think what he's asking.. Is we just want to see a shipping box to get a idea how to ship our SR car. I know that's what I wanna see and with talking with X he thinks the same. So if someone has some pick please post or I can give u my email

From some of the live races Ive been to, there are unlimited ways to pack up the SR. One of the coolest ways I saw and I might have a pic of it somewhere and I dont remember who it was but they packed the two pieces separately. The body was wrapped and packed in bubble wrap and the wood plank was packed like normal in a DD4H shipping box. Then the crew just snapped the body onto the frame.

I wish mine would go together that easily... /images/boards/smilies/smile.gif

I custom made the box itself modeled like a legends. I used styro insulation 'cause that's what I had on hand. I think The black foam like in a legends would be better. I glued extra foam from a legend on top for a hold down on hood and trunk.

Take into consideration where the weight is in the car and secure it well. The first time I shipped, the weight came loose and reeked havoc. As you can see, the styro is routed out around the body so there is no lateral movement. As always be sure you wheels are isolated.

I dont have a SR but you can find mailer boxes at Staples or Officemax. I got a 10x4x4. Packing foam I just salvage from other stuff. Furniture and electronics stores throw out a lot of packing foam.

Has anyone tried the expanding foam?
I've never priced it. You could use DD4H as the base to protect the wheels and then have the shipping expanding foam package form around the top of your car.

Here is mine.....the opposite cover also has a hard foam bar that sits on top of the car when the box closes like all the other shipping boxes we use.
