SS Weight Rule

I am building my first SS car for June race and had a question about the weight. The rules state not to exceed 5oz (143grams). I have the exact same scale John sells on his site, and when i put my car to 143 grams then switch to oz's it says 5.04. Will my car pass inspection this way? Thanks for the help.

shouldn't take much to get the .04 off the weight I don't think I would chance it. did you use lead or tung. cubes. If you used cubes you could replace one of the cubes with tung. puddy to get it down to weight or if you used lead you could remove a very small amount by drilling it.

I typically build my cars to 142 grams just to be safe. I use an automotive refrigerant scale and it has been real accurate for me on the grams side.

Believe it or not I've had some cars that ran better slightly under weight than when I went back and got them up to weight. I lost speed and could not dial it back in. I don't know maybe coincidence or something else I wish I knew. That might be a subject for a new topic to see if anyone else has experienced this. Sorry I got a little off topic its just something that came to mind as I was thinking That it would be better to be a few 100ths under weight as it would to be over it would suck to send in a car and the be dq'ed and not get to race.
