So I started my street rod today. Model is together, just need to mount the body to the block. Anybody using anything different from what Quicktime posted. Just curious to see if anything else is out there.

What I did was almost exactly like what QuickTime posted, except that I used four pieces of wood cut from a paint mixing stick instead of two pieces of thicker wood. I had pieces overlapped halfway up on each side, just above the holes I drilled. What I used was very thin and that was the only way I could figure out how to keep the screws from sliding up in an angled door. I'm not saying that the way I did it was any better, it's just the way it turned out and it seemed to get the job done.

All I can tell you is the DONT'S... DONT put it next to the fireplace!!! DONT put too much weight in the rear and DONT use a SLOPAR for your model!!! haha
blah
lol

Glad to see the interest in this class John should have the updated rule posted soon. I think that there may even be a bonus for this class.
shhh

We had to re-glue one of your side mounts. It held for the race and the car ran well!

Yea like, Car must run in correct orientation, no backwards running cars. All four wheels must touch at all times. All main body parts must be used, grilles, bumpers, lights, spoilers frt and rear, glass, Etc.

Updated rule?

The side mirror don't have to be installed. Do to shipping and size they would break off. If anyone has questions on parts that need to be installed ask. We will try to get pictures up of correctly built bodies. If you building a Camaro look at SG3's It has all the stuff you need. For a GTX look at Chiefs or Theros.

Running backwards? Now that's some outside the box thinking/images/boards/smilies/smile.gif

I noticed the kits have side view mirrors correct? Are all of the exterior components required to be installed? I don't think many installed the mirrors, mayby I am wrong. Not complaining, just trying to build.

Well Make sure you look at the correct car!!! DO NOT look at the white one that had a "Melt Down" HAHA
lol

We should eliminate the side mirrors! They too are difficult to attach properly, at least on Camero and Mustang.
