I have built my first Street Rod. It was a challenging build and definitely tested my patience and skills. I chose a Revell 1:25 AeroVette because I thought it looked pretty cool. The wheelbase is real short at only 3.75". Sugar pine chassis, cheetah V3 wheels, .92 pro axles. I tinted the plastic windows that came with the kit, (should have just used black film). It didn't turn out as clean as I wanted. But I just hope it makes it down the track. Car sits @ 68 grams without weight. So 100 grams of tungsten will go in.

Nice car. I built one of these exact same cars a few years ago. They are very fast. It has the street rod/slammer record on my track.

You should send it for the September race! It would be be cool to see 2 of them running.....and it would be awesome to have you back on the track. A lot of these newer racers have yet to race against the legendary Carolina! And I am sincere when I say that. I always loved the craftmanship and have been jealous of the speed of your cars.

Looks great!! Yes it does have a great Aero design. I believe DNA built one of those models also a year or so ago.

I will be sending this car and two other class entries to the September race.

Good to hear that others who built off this body had fast cars. I was a little worried about the short wheel base. Hopefully my axle/wheel prep and alignment will be good enough.

It would be fun to run against other "Aero Vettes".

What COM would you guys recommend for this short wheel base?

I can't remember what COM I ran, but I do remember it was a handful to tune.

I don't have a track so tuning will be a shot in the dark. Guess I will go for 1" COM and 4-5" of steer over 4'. Unless anyone has some other suggestions.

A double lane best track would be nice. Maybe someday the right deal will present itself at the right time when funds are available and I can make it happen.

My very short wheel base street rod Dragula has a com just under 3/4" and around 5" in 4 ft of steer. From what I could see on the video it didn't wiggle much if at all.
