Who would like to see the STREET RODS ran in the BLUE lane and the RED lane only. It would be a double elimination. With this being done it would take wind aero dynamics out. This would shake things up somewhat and make it more like a drag race.. Please vote. JOHN and I discussed this and I told him I would post a poll to get people thoughts and feed back..

'70 Camaro?! What happened to your '78 Trans Ams or the '70(?) Chevelles?
But, yes! If you've got an SR, send it in! I believe that I can personally guarantee that you will not be in last place!

I still have it ( 78 firebird )and been doing alot of testing and changes to it.. I have it running about 6-7 thousands faster than the camaro.. OPA bought the twin the my firebird and he did really well first time racing it.. He should be alot faster for the finals..

I think this would be cool to try, I wouldn't want to change now for MOTM though.

Bring on the Drag racing, sounds like a great idea. I'm going t have to get another car ready for this, the Charger is not very aerodynamic.

I think that sounds good but id still be in favor of using the best aggregate times to determine the winner rather than an elimination round....unless im misunderstanding double elimination concept....as long as its worked out where to the two fastest cars (time wise) race in the finals than that is good!

Would it not work out where the two fastest cars time wise meet in the end?

If after the first round you match up winners against winners and losers against losers. 2nd,3rd,4th rounds etc. Until you are down to the last 2 cars. I would imagine the fastest timed cars would be there.

Aren't this type of races usually done in a manner where they try and keep the two fastest from racing until the final round ?

I believe this style of racing is a heads up race where time is considered only for who crossed the line first. Because their is no reaction times here the car that crosses the line first is deemed the winner. This means that the two cars that end up in the finals are not necessarily the fastest cars on the track that particular day. It means they won their heats in the true fashion of heads up racing. Correct me if I'm wrong. As this is how I understand it.

This would start at the beginning of the next series right? I prefer not to have things change until then.

I voted for 2 lanes, but I agree with Kinser. Wait for the first race of the next series, don't do this for MOTM

I believe this would be a given.

As a new-comer to this racing league, I am only in the SS-Am so far, but would like to branch out to the Streed Rod next, so this definitely catches my interest.

I agree with running the cars only on the outer lanes. So I voted yes. But I wonder if the actual format should be different - more like what they do in real drag racing. One scenario could be: hold preliminary rounds where each car gets to run on both lanes and average the times. Then take the 8 fastest builders' best cars and run a set of single elimination rounds (1 versus 8, 2 versus 7, 3 versus 6, and 4 versus 5, then semi finals, then finals). For each of these matchups I would also run the cars on both lanes and average times to get the matchup winner that moves on. The #1 and #2 qualifiers would be on different sides of the elimination bracket so set up for the showdown in the finals. I believe this would take 34 heats with 20 cars entered

There is only one problem that I see with the drag racing. The SR's were pretty close in the last race. Who ever is in the red lane would probably win.

It should just be red lane blue lane and average times for this reason.

Pinewood derby is far different from drag racing. You have the car only to rely on and no driving abilities can play into it.

Pinewood derby isn't like any other type of racing.
