Over the past year or so, we've seen a few pictures posted of complete or near complete Street Rods, but then never heard from them (the cars) again.

What became of:

Quadad's Hurst Olds:

W&K's GT90:

Corvid's DeLorean:

JBD's '69 Nova SS:

Chief's Tail Dragger:

There are others — these are just the ones I came across in a rather quick search.

And, yes, I'm guilty too:

(The Calliente should be making her debut this month)

Ahhh, the Hurst Olds - one of my all time favorites. It made its Zeebzob Speed Shop debut quite a while ago, but alas, it was SLOW. I haven't been able to get back to it. Thanks for remembering it !!

Hopefully there will be many new Street Rods debuting in the near future. I am hoping to add a couple myself.

I ran that SR in the MOTM series finals last year.....it did not do well and was so wiggly and unstable I didn't have the heart to continue sending it in for fear that it might literally knock another car off the track!

Its sitting in a box next to my work table though....one day I might have the time and desire to see if I can adjust it to be stable....

Wow, the good ol' Delorean. This turned out to be one helluva a bearcat. The way I mounted the body allowed no vertical adjustment- only lateral. I never factored in the rise in height from the heavily canted DFW and ran out of clearance under the hood. I was paranoid that if I tried to fix that chassis by elevating the front my rears would end up with toe out. No way am I gonna throw a dog in the fight knowing it is handicapped- being too short and unaerodynamic I was OK with due to its cool looks and what it represents but throw in bad alignment and it's a whole nuther story. Long story short, it needs a new chassis and patiently waits its turn. I don't feel pressed for time on this build since it's a time machine after all.

I like the way JBD has his stunt car in the background just chomping at the bit.

Eric,

I think that your SR is the best one I have ever seen.

Great job.

Eccentric,

Are you telling me the greatest RR racer the world has ever seen cannot get this time machine in order?

Nice cars fellas!

I like Chief's 50's Merc, nice door slammer. Let's see her roll down the track, I'll have mine there this month. Still under wraps though.

You should get it running again in 2015 and run a few races last year to see how it does.

For those of you sitting on the fence about this class, JUMP IN !
shout
Yes, they are a little tricky to build, but they look super cool running down the track !

I really like this class and yes my tail has been draggin, not just the car...I hope to have a little time at the end of this month to finish it up but this is the Xtreme busy time for me at school...Time!!! Just dont have enough of it!

Sorry fella,

I know there was that one white whale but you have to let that one go.

Actually, no. I'm fairly certain I just watched Rocket's Bad SR race in this last race. Along with IAE's hot (but back heavy) Barely Blue. /images/boards/smilies/smile.gif

I'm excited to hear more people ready to put in a car for this month's race.
cool

You are likely correct, I haven't seen the SR races from last month yet. My mistake, oops!
