I agree never have ran a race with u guys because some of us (me ) just can not find that speed. The am. class is great but look at the times they are running. All ways wondered how many send a car in to the am. class under another name just to see if they could win in that class. I would love to run a car but I can not get the times that the am. class is running for sure. I agree with neverglueagain no fun running against a pro built car. If you are a pro then b a pro. That why street stock class on a dirt tract don't need to run against jeff gordan.

OK, after seeing some of the comments, I will throw my "2 cents in" for what it's worth. It's seems to be the elite pro guys are averaging 2.97 and lower pretty consistently, that seems to be the bar to hit to be a pro now days. Even a pre-built car by John or whoever may hit 2.97 for a race, but at some point it will lose it's speed and it will have to be re-prepped the wheels and axles and without the knowledge, most likely it will not reach those speeds again. So 2.97 seems to be the cut-off now to be an elite pro. Well that puts me out of it.

DD4H, did the new start gate change the times on the league track faster or slower or just make it more consistent?

At the November qualifier out of about 50 cars, half were quicker than 2.97. So make sub2.97 the split for the faster pros, a sub3 would bump you out of the Ams into the "slow Pros"? Making the break at sub3 would keep racers moving out of the Am's and having the "half step" would ease the transition to the Pros. Call it Advanced Am?

speedbump, don't forget that those fast guys you're talking about from MOTM are moving to the pro ranks already. Guys like Tedbull, KC, Dew, and the like all ran sub2.98's so it's time for us to move up based on the current rules. I would be curious to see what the Am class looks like at the first of the spring races.

The season and the classifications will start new with this 4 month series. You can choose what grouping you should be in and race there. The top 3 in the Am and Novice will be forced to move up a classification. Once you achieve a pro rank after the season starts then you will not go down so if you choose to start as a pro then you will stay a pro.

Everyone can hit the reset button and go where they feel they should be to compete. There is no shame in starting as a Novice and working up.

We are going to go back to awarding monthly virtual trophies for the winners and we will do trophies for the series champions.

If I were a novice, I would still want to race with the big boys. I suggest that when the car names or racing names are entered into the computer on race day, that next to their name is either an N, A, or P.
That way they could still see how they compare with others in the same class or how they compare overall when the results are printed out. When the finals are run, just pick a certain number from each class and race them all together. You would still have a champion novice, am, or pro.

Fast cars run faster together. Putting a 3.05 next to an advanced Pro would not be fair to the advanced pro, it would affect his times.
