If I were a novice, I would still want to race with the big boys. I suggest that when the car names or racing names are entered into the computer on race day, that next to their name is either an N, A, or P.
That way they could still see how they compare with others in the same class or how they compare overall when the results are printed out. When the finals are run, just pick a certain number from each class and race them all together. You would still have a champion novice, am, or pro.

John

Where do you want racers to state what class level they want to be in? Forums? or on the registration form we fill in and send in for the upcoming race?

That is a really cool idea!

I agree. In the past I've had a great three runs, but with my luck there was always that one run that I came up against a wiggler that just flat out destroyed my time for that heat. But! That's racing. I just need to get out front and stay there I guess.

That is my biggest problem with it. If I am a pro then I would just want to race the pros in the finals.

Ok so for the Novice class it's building the from the block of wood on your own. Same rules then for street stock other than that rule?
