I built my 1st awana car and had trouble getting it under 3sec. . I drilled exactly the same as I drill my pro cars. Are the wheels themselves are to soft to go sub3? Has anyone gone sub 3 and what did you do to accomplish this? Keep in mind I have been racing pro for about 6 months. So I know what I'm doing. I think!!

I've been racing AGP and PWD for ~6 years now. We have yet to get our AGP cars to be as quick as the PWD cars. We took 1st in both AGP and PWD last year, but the AGP car was consistently a couple hundredths slower than our PWD cars.

Our AGP race is in two weeks, so I'll be experimenting again and looking for speed.

BTW, in answer to your question, the AGP wheels are definitely softer and your guess as to the speed problem sounds pretty likely to be the case.

Good luck to you!

Hey Rocket,

Just talking too much as usual.

I hope you don't mind an idea I just had.

Awana wheels are totally foreign to me, but perhaps by freezing before polishing?

Just tossing the idea out there.

Nice job over the weekend.

I did alot of research and nowhere does it say freeze before polishing. Freeze before cutting, yes because the wheels are soft.

Sweet!! Congratulations!!
