So the car shape my daughter wanted to use, Pine Car funny car block, was not necessarily the best so we did what we could to be able to shift some weight.

Holes were drilled with a 25/64" bit, measured and drilled as deep as we could with out going through the other side. Holes were filled by gluing 3/8" dowel rod pieces that I cut to about 3/32" some might have been 1/8". The holes drilled in the bottom were placed to take out the most wood where the they intersected with the holes drilled in the side. Probably could have punched a few more it, but I did not want to play around with the angled section from the side of the car to the top.

All of the weight is in the 2 rear most holes. If I had to do it over again I would have left the rear axle placement alone and just drilled holes for axles above the slot. I think I could have had 2 weight holes behind the axle to put more weight behind it.
