Hi. Does anyone know the size of the tamiya craft swabs that you use for polishing the bores? Is anyone using these to polish bores? They make one that fits perfect but im not sure of the part number. Can anyone help? Thanks

I use them and like them. I use the smallest and medium sized ones. The smaller ones I mainly use for digging out extra bore polish. The medium ones are good for the wheel bores.

Maybe this. I found them in hobby lobby in the same isle as the pinewood derby things

Same brand but I need the triangle ones I think. I would send a picture but idk how. I think the part number is 87150. They make two spear shaped ones. I will probably just order both like cram jet said for different areas of the wheel. They will come in handy for making very fine paint lines also

Is it possible it's 87105? Those are the small ones. Too small to polish the bore. 87106 polishes the bore very well and is more gentile than the swab stalk. I found mine at Hobby Lobby as well, and yes, in the same isle as the PWD stuff.

I don't like to go ridiculous with the pressure on the inside of the bore because that expands it and the more you expand it the more friction you will create when it rolls.

Perfect. Thank you so much. I know some vendors that sell them cut in half but the price is too high.

They also have 87107 but they look to big. I think the 87105 and 87106 are perfect. Like you said it will expand the bore. I found them in the online auction for about $5.00 plus shipping which is reasonable for that site.

The 87106 are the ones you want. You still have to work them into the bore but they are not nearly as tight as the swab stalk.

I took a pic of the 87106 (small) with it in a blue wheel,If i could post it I would, I cant find how to. I did have to push a bit to get it in, like cramjet said.
