Anyone tried to template route there car bodies? I have done template routing on other items but before I waste time and wood was wondering if anyone else has tried and had good success. Figuring I could cut out 20+ cars in an hour with precission.

Yes. It has worked good for us, although we did just loose the rear axle area on one of our bodies where it broke out.
I figured that may happen here and there. I';ll be doing a few patterns tomorrow, hope it works well for me.
I mad a jig, but now I will cut 10 cars by setting my fence and doing the steps on ten at a time as I have the fence set up. I quickly out grew my jig because I'm always tweaking small aspects of the build, so I will do the weight pockets and then try different things on the cars Like embedding slide guides, shaving 1/16 off the DFW side, 45 degree car, ect. I cut many of the bodies using my router jig but those are outdated inferior designs now.
