To anyone looking for helpful great information join this group. Everyone here is super helpful and I just wanted to say thank you. We are new to pinewood derby this year and made it to NYC championship and finished 43rd overall. and we could not have done so well without the help of this awesome group and its members. A special thanks to Castoro Racing without Anthony being so awesome we would not have done so well our first year. and derbydad always a constant professional and wealth of knowledge. Joel at derby evolution always available and helpful.. BTW this is "Dan from NY" as we have talked so often. Thanks to all members for great helpful post!! and I highly recommend listening to the individuals mentioned above they are all awesome sources of knowledge.

We were in NYC as well, same division, same rank. Some tough competition in spots #1 and #2, not sure that brother/sister duo can be beat. I've actually been debating whether I'd advise my son to switch to Pro Stock if he makes it back next year. Those stock winners actually would have beat the Pro Stock cars in our rank, too.

what heat was your son in? We were in heat 1, This is his first year in the scouts, so I am still hopeful we can find some speed. I am going to try racing in the APR league see if I can pickup some speed tricks. I think there is still room for growth, I agree with you the wolf rank was stacked with fast cars and like you I am hopeful the family does not have a third sibling we will have to contend with.. lol

Last heat. I didn't even think about whether there's a third kid in that family. At least if there is, they are probably a different age/rank, otherwise it would have been a 1-2-3 sweep this year.
