The Pinewood Tank

This is the tank i built with my nephew a couple weeks ago that i mentioned in another thread. we blew away the pack competition going undefeated taking first place and breaking the pack record (whatever that was, noone told me what time or speed we ran )

he will be taking this car to the district race next weekend but we are realistic in knowing there will be much more advanced built cars at that level. We built this in one night , but hey maybe we can get lucky

yeah B Regal i saw you listed in the top 50 and you were the only one from Jersey. I'm in monmouth county near the shore , how far are you??

I don't know about being top 50, but we'll get some verification in the SS class this Saturday /images/boards/smilies/smile.gif

I'm near ACY, just a few miles from the shore myself. I spent just a little bit of time in Asbury Park to see Bruce when I was in college, before he was popular, but for the most part, I'm a South Jersey shore person, with a hint of "piney."

Update on " The Pinewood Tank " from districts :

Placed 4th by a little over a second ...... But we re entered it in the modified division because the top 3 cars from the scout races are impounded to go to council.

Finished 3rd in the modified division ( behind my daughters car of course /images/boards/smilies/wink.gif /images/boards/smilies/wink.gif so I got my nephew a tropy at districts with the tank .... Whoo would have thunk it ??

I've never seen a pinewood derby tank I didn't like. Very cool.
