We received the email of the track times for this last weekends District race... As I said before it was some really close racing.. did not know how close until tonight...

Only 8 thousandths of a second separated 1 & 2nd place How darn cool this was... I can't wait to see my boy next year with knowing the rules and the track he can build his car better, faster & dominate... No Doubt...

Our Pack held 2nd, 13th & 20th place this year.... Next year I see 1st, 2nd & 3rd if parents meet up with us during the builds...

each Scout had 4 runs and the averaged the times... I wish we could have had a run off.. His car was getting faster after each run.. He won all 4 races ...

So Papa V what's your post-race consensus, what are you going to change to gain an extra 9 10,000th's of a second?

Well since ya asked...My son is going to do the following as he has to work on this next car more on the axles and prep as I did this part.

1.Drill the block canted wheels
2.Extend the wheel base out
3.Prep again as we did this race (It has to be graphite) arghhhh... But the special touch...
4.Going to lighten the body from .50 oz to less
5.More Tungsten.. Need to drop a cube or two closer to the front
6.Going to push the envelop more on axles as the guy who techs cars just places it on the Scale... Nothing more.
7.Kinser Special instead of painting... Keep it light.
8.Start way earlier like the night after the the Scouts have the X-mas party and get their kits... LOL not 2 weeks before and rushing...

I can say he will get more then enough if we do these steps... We are going to build a car this week end since I promised him he can send in a car to Mid America this year if he helped out more then normal on this car.. So he will be trying out some of the things listed above... Just got some trial and error items to work out... I know the Open Scout class will smoke us this year but next year he will have more to work with...

Sounds good! Glad you have a plan and the knowledge to take it up a notch. Racing a national caliber race and getting your butt kicked gives you that much more confidence to bring it back home to Districts like this and win.

Big time difference between 2nd and 3rd. Plus you weren't that far out of first either. The naked eye would have likely called that a dead even race, .0008 can you even blink that fast?

Congratulations once again!
