Hey guys have searched on here and found some good information on timers but just wanted to know what would be the best timer as far as how they last and customer service that you get from the company if you have problems.

With a best track....
I've used a champ timer on 3-lanes for 6 years with 0 issues ... Simple , complete, quality fit , consistent even if I moved the track
I've just ordered a NewBold Derby stick a new 1-lane test track ... Will post results ?! When I get it ... Should be up and going next weekend

I went with an Arduino Uno-based DIY setup. I like having the ability to write notes directly into each test session. Can't do that with GPRM.

But since I built it myself, I can assure you the customer service here stinks! /images/boards/smilies/smile.gif

Interesting! I'll be in touch with you soon.

I built my own track over 5 years ago and am using a Newbold 2 lane timer. It has been working just fine all this time. They have a new model now so my old one is not available but I suspect the new model works as good or better!

I don't have a track or a timer. Sorry. Just think what I could do with those babies! /images/boards/smilies/wave.gif

Thanks guys this is what I needed to hear. That was my conclusion after looking at the timers. I just want the best timer for our group of boys so that we can have accurate times and good service life.

Dunno why you'd spend almost double on a champ timer when you can get a K3. When I get one, that's what I'm going with

Did lots of research on timers. I could never understand why some would spend hundreds of dollars on tools, building supplies, and speed supplies, and then "save" when purchasing the one and only item that is used to scientifically study the fruits of your efforts. A K3 is the only way to travel (about 35' in just under 3 seconds).
