That's it! I bow out, I'm done... How can you keep up with such speed? It's ludicrous, just when you think you've got a handle on it here comes more speed. Crap! Well, I bid adieu...

Hold on! I don't give up that easy...

One of these days I will stop playing catch up and be in the front. Until then, the R&D continues and I will remain hunkered down in John's garage until he finds where I've been hiding.

I enjoy the challenge of more speed and faster times... a moving target, it has to remain interesting or else I'll get bored. Bring it on.

Oh yeah! I will NOT be buying the Cheetah V3 wheels, I'm with you QT, V2's all the way for me, or the originals if there are any left!!! /images/boards/smilies/sneaky.gif

I guess we'll be seeing some record shattering runs at Nationals in the SS class with speeds approaching SP times.

The car actually ran a 2.941. The 2.947 time was a slower to average time. I just built a car for a neighbor for a last minute race and in less than 2 hours painted it ran a 2.948 as I plugged it together. Didn't even tune it.

It is starting to get ridiculous.

Man, I want to see the bottom of the car. Jet Propulsion for sure. Why do we have chemists and engineers on this website? We should go see this guy.
lol

P.s. BH doesn't have a chance.. When that time machine hits 88 miles an hour you are going to see some serious $hit.
lol

when is this Pine wood Derby Race?

Hey fireball let me know when you get ready to send the time machine to the race I gotta see this world record setting car go down the track. I would like to see how close my unlimited would come to beating this thing im guessing when my unlimited car got to the bottom of the slope he would be crossing the finish.
rofl
I believe my fastest unlimited time in the 2012 March madness was 2.859 which was pretty darn fast i thought but shoot come to find out now i could have gotten beat buy a scout car. I gotta get back to the drawing board when my bearing car wont even beat a scout car.
wah

Please Mr. Fireball could I get you to take me under your Wing and show me how to build a fast car. I really need your help bad. I don't have a lot of money to pay you for lessons but I will cut your lawn and do your chores if you would just let me in on a few of your secrets so I could take QT's #1 power ranking spot.
smile

Freeeeky!! is back. Lighten up on Fireball, he is just proud of a fantastic race. Car was running graphite. The track might have been 42 ft, but it looked longer from the photos, the thing about it is it had about twice the drop from start to finish as a typical track, looked like about an 8 ft drop!!, so those times are not suspect, just not going to happen on a best track. That car beat a LOT of other cars, probably over 200, and there were some good looking cars in the group.

Fireball- keep your skills up for your next Cub. Send your car to the Nationals.

Dont pay any attention to the Derby Freak,
eeek
Fireball! We have had him tied up in the basement
beatup
for quite some time now and we finally released him on good behavior and he is just spinning his wheels (Mouth HAHA)
shout
Do not ever be worried about sending a car in NO matter how fast or slow the car is, It is just so much fun and the things you learn are priceless!!! Not to mention DD4H and everyone that helps him takes the best care of everyones cars, they treat them better than their own...it truly is an AWESOME event everytime!!!
If the Freak gives you anymore business you just let me know and I will take all the heat he thinks he can bring for you OK!
shutup
smack

Send you car in and have a geat time!!
roadrage
cool

Yeah don't worry fireball im just messing with ya I guess alot of people thought they had a super fast car after winning a scout pinewood derby race. I can remember when my son and I finished our first car and won first place in the troop race and the district race. Man we were red hot car builders and through hunger to retain our championship the next year i began to search for knowledge to make our car even faster for the next year. That's when I discovered proxy racing and found out really just how fast of a car we built. Our car ran a 3.075 in the first race and we came in dead last. Since then my skills have greatly increased and I build some fast cars but they are still far from being fast enough to to beat people like dd4h, kinser, QT, SG3 and some others. I would encourge you to send your car in to race and start trying to learn how the pro's build cars and you will be running a about .1 sec or greater faster for next years race my ss cars are now running around a 2.95xx if the track hasnt changed since march of 2012. (.1 )dont sound like much but that is probably about a third- half of the track. The times you have quoted for your scout car far exceed the times of my unlimited car which is equiped with an extended wheelbase, " goatboy acrylic razor wheels" w/ boca bearings and over 4oz of tungten in the car.It also set a track record on PWDR's track Feb 2012 which was topped the next month but none the lees it is not a slouch. I got probably $150 dollars in that car but if your car can pass the NPWDRL entry inspection and your scout car beats my unlimited car without default I will give you my car and never race pwd again. Send it in and lets see what you got bro!!!!!

Whats up txchem I missed you all. Has it been quite since I've not been around for awhile? I'm only trying to prepare him for a major let down so he won't be too discourged when he finishes at the back of the pack and maybe he will come back again to learn how to build a car. Plus I want to start breaking him in lightly and get him used to old Freaky right off the bat.

Yeah Chief, it sure feels good to be back on here with you guys. I have missed you all a lot and can't wait to get back on the track. For you new guys, don't ever take old Freaky serious I just like to have fun.
