Tune on one, race on another

The scenario is: we can tune on a 42' Best track but have to race on a homemade wood track. The wood track has a more gradual slope and a more gentle transition than the Best but will have a rougher surface and no practice (tune) time allowed. If we tune on the smooth side of a wiggle on the Best track, what would the best guess on what to do with the tune before the wood track race. I have some COM adjustment ability built into car but mainly thinking the steer adjustment is my most important change. Any thoughts?

Just my two cents worth...I set up our car and sent it in to race at the NPWDRL track (and Lost) Then took the car to the scouts wood track and won...

I'm going to offer a little different advice. Because you don't know the condition of the track I would steer less1-3 inches over 4 ft. You don't want it jumping the rail with to much steer. I would focus most on the prep that's were you'll be able to dominate everyone else.

Yep what he said. I usually am around 1 to 1.5" steer on a wood track. I have even gone as little as .5 inch.
