The week before our scout Pinewood derby race, the track (42' Best Track) will be open to tune our cars on. There probably won't be a lot of time to tune on the track, maybe 3 or 4 runs. My question is how do you tune a car on the track? Are there 3 or 4 basic things we can do or be looking for to adjust?

Thanks!

I'm no pro for tuning on a track. But how Spirit and I did it was take your standard steer from your tuning board:
Run it.
See any wobble?
No.
Clean wheels.
Adjust DFW for less steer
check on tuning board
run it

Repeat with more or less steer based on wobble. Sometimes you have to run it multiple times on a set steer.

On that few of runs I would be looking just to make sure it doesn't wobble. If you get more you could tweak the wheel gaps in or out or move the weight around a little bit.

Our pack's test & tune is short and sweet. You get two runs and you're done. They basically hold it just to make sure everyone gets to the other end of the track.
