Here is the question - if you had a 42' Best Track to tune on, but your race is on a 48' (MW, previously Piantedosi) Freedom track, how would you tune ?
hmmm
And how would you set it up differently. Obviously the Freedom track has a gentler transition, but it also has a much longer slope. The flat is not that different give the different total lengths.

I am trying to help a friend out here.

Our district race was on a Freedom aluminum, but I didn't have a test track until after districts this year, so I don't know how much help I can be. I noticed after tuning my car for CCRL there was a point the car started to get a slight wiggle but was at its fastest. I added just enough steer to stop the wiggle to be safe but lost about .005. If I were going to be racing on the Freedom, I would have left it alone because it's a lot more forgiving than the BestTrack. That cars has a COM of 1/2" and the steer was 2" in 4' at the point I was talking about. Hope this makes sense.

Quadad. I have Piantedosi one lane track. My personal experience when tuning for leaque races , is when my cars are running nice and smooth on my track , the cars will wiggle on John's Best Track. Therefor I always make a very slight steer adjustment before I send my cars in. So in your case I would think you can go with a little less steer . BSA wheels for sure , however I feel that razor wheels seem about the same to me. Hope this helps...SPIRIT.............

That all does help, thanks guys ! Its going to be a bit of a learning experience, but it wouldn't be any fun otherwise !!

Spirit, do you add more steer when going from Piantedosi to Best Track, or less steer?

If your tuning on Freedom Piantedosi aluminum track and racing on a Best Track. In my experience I will add about 1 to 2 inches more steer before racing on a Best Track. All cars are different and most of the time 1 inch is enough. Hope this helps....SPIRIT.......

Just had a thought. To clarify I do my tuning on a 8 ft tuning board, and not a 4 or 6 footer. So tweaking on a shorter tune board you should add half said steer/images/boards/smilies/smile.gif....SPIRIT......
