So, Ben and I need to prepare for a completely different track set up for his District Races. We are going from a fairly beat up 42' Best Track to a 30' (or so) wooden track that is in really good condition, or at least was last year. Our Pack's track has been abused over the years to the point that I am going to take the track home, clean it and replace/repair some broken parts. Braces are missing on one side so the curve section was held up on one side by a stack of books. joints are damaged with major gouges where someone used a screwdriver or something to pry the sections apart etc. Lane 2 was so bad that every car hopped at the joint between two sections just below the curve! Filthy - never cleaned etc.
The wooden track ran smooth, and was for the most part very well maintained. I don't think that there will be any opportunity to tune on that track.
In general, leave the car as is, set to about 4 inches over 4 feet? Dial it back a bit? Add a bit?
What say you gurus?
