Even though Mid America went really well for my son, I was unable to get my car done in time. I purchased a ladder body from a vendor ( Not DD4H, which I'm finding out was a mistake ). Anyway, the body looked great. I prepped it and installed the plywood top. Prepped my wheels and axles and on installing them, noticed the rear was pre drilled wrong. The angle was opposite from what it should have been. At first I thought "oh crap, I have it upside down ". Then quickly realized that's not the case. I've made several attempts to contact them with no reply. Now I've seen posts that they are no longer open.
I'm assuming I'm out the minimal amount I paid plus shipping and learned a lesson to Keep my purchases to DD4H but was curious if anyone had input on what to try if anything.

Just unlucky timing for you.
If you want to salvage the body, fill the holes with toothpicks and wood glue, and redrill using a Silver Bullet Pro. If not, you're only out like $10 right?

Ya, like $15 total. Not the end of the world. I like the body a lot, I might give the tooth picks a try and see how it goes. Thanks.

I'm a little curious here...this is a 1/4" thick body? Why isn't the rear invert-able? Help me visualize here. :)

Yes the body is 1/4". I ordered it pre-drilled for my axles. If you flip the body over to correct the cant, the raised wheel is now lower than the rest of the wheels. There is no room to re-drill the raised wheel. Hope that helped as I don't have the pictures on my computer only on my phone.

Your dominant side just changes.

I have received quite a few emails about this. If you did not receive your product or a refund please let me know. I am trying to work with the people that have been left with nothing to make sure they get the parts they need. Please PM me if you are in this situation.

Pretty cool you are stepping in to help out. If it is the case that they are no longer in business, I don't want to put the burden on you as it is only $15.

+ 1

Your NDFW (raised wheel) should still be raised after you put the steer into your DFW. If it isn't, bend the NDFW axle as well.

The problem as I see it is that by flipping the car over your camber goes the wrong way in the rears.

This is true, I could give more bend to the DFW, which now is 3*. I can bend the raised wheel axle and glue to ensure non movement. Right now the body is drilled with the wrong cant, like this if looking at the rear of the body \ / flipping it would give me the correct cant like this / \ then follow your advise. This should work and help salvage the body. Thanks

Oh, I see. I was turned around. (see what I did there) ;)

Yep, you should be good to go now. BTW, I typically put around 7 degrees in my DFW axle, so you shouldn't have a problem putting more bend in yours. That may even keep you from having to bend the NDFW axle.

As John just pointed out, you've simply switched the dominant side of the car to the other side. Everything else should still be fine.

OTOH, if this is a problem for you, I would recommend that you just use a toothpick and epoxy to fill the holes for the DFW and the raised axle and redrill them. These holes are far, far less critical as far as alignment goes than the rears. If the rears are drilled properly (in spite of being the opposite configuration from what you prefer), I would not touch them, unless you have a drill jig or the like.

I have some laser cut ladder bodies (I don't know how many) I'm not going to use. If anyone wants one they can have one, you will just have to pay for the shipping. You can PM me.
