What kind of veneer, for those of you that use a veneer, do you all use and where do you get it from? Also any suggestions on glass or plexiglass for a tuning board?
If your thinking about making a tuning board using the print from DD4H, then Glass is the way to go. IMHOObsessedderbydad said:What kind of veneer, for those of you that use a veneer, do you all use and where do you get it from? Also any suggestions on glass or plexiglass for a tuning board?

Obsessedderbydad said:Yes I have the dd4h tuning board graphic. I just need to find a place hall do a custum glass size that I need for the tuning board im making. I did find balsa wood veneer from Jo Ann Fabrics. Usually they are more expensive than most places, was wondering if anyone knew of any other place. Thanks for the tip on hobby lobby.

You can still iron it to remove small wrinkles.
You could also buy the rolls of Mono, but that takes a lot more skill with the iron to get the wrinkles out.

That's funny!!!bracketracer said:Obsessedderbydad said:I think I saw that stuff... Monokete. Is it like tape?
It's what frustration would look like, if you could buy it in a roll.......
just kidding!
Yes, it has a slightly tacky adhesive backing once you get the liner off. Then, allegedly, if you apply the right amount of heat to it, it activates the adhesive and bonds it. If you apply a bit more heat is causes the monokote to shrink a bit and tighten, and if you apply just the right amount of heat, it melts a hole in it! If you need any help making the holes, I'm the man for the job! lol!
EDIT: They make a product called a trim sheet that is just a sticky backed decal also. I have used that successfully! I believe that is the 4" wide stuff that OPA was talking about.

I didn't give up on it. I just haven't figured it out yet! I still have nearly a full roll to learn on!!
I was going to give up on it after the first time........until I realized that the guy at the hobby shop where I bought the stuff neglected to tell me to.. peel ..off.. the.. liner.. before you apply it. It sticks MUCH better when you follow the instructions on the package!
ZZ Racing said:Guys I use a tape from ULine to cover my cars with. It's real simple and comes in many different colors. The only problem I have the manufacture doesn't sell just a few rolls you have to but 18 rolls for a order but I found a local hobby shop that carried a few rolls.
