If you're pressed for time, I'd just burnish with graphite and run. My understanding is, that while bore wax is crucial if you're running oil, it's only a minor improvement when you run graphite.
After my prep, i like to let my wheels sit/set for a few days or week. I dont go crazy burnishing. Before a race i burnish wheel bores with a pipe cleaner till i have a nice silvery finish. Put wheels on work some more graphite in each wheel n axle individually, give em a good couple spins tap out extra n race.
