Awana Grand Prix We brought home some hardware today

My kids raced in the Awana Grand Prix this afternoon. Thanks to the guys and their advice on this forum we went undefeated today. Both won Grand Champion for their groups (boys & girls). Our average margin of victory was about .08 seconds. We turned in our fastest time yet at 2.4557 seconds. We raced the cars head to head after the event for in house bragging rights. The difference at the finish line was about 2 inches (non timed). Pretty sure this is the 35 foot best track. Thanks again for all of your help. We may not have communicated directly, but you likely contributed something that was read and filed away. This was the smoothest build year ever.

Thank you for your kind words regarding the cars. I wasn't sure how they were going to turn out when we started. In the end I thought they turned out pretty nice. I was just counting the other day. These were our 26 & 27 Awana Grand Prix cars. We have 8 kids. 6 have now completed all of their races. Been doing this for about 14-15 years. It only took us about 8 years to figure out not to use the axle slots provided in the blocks and another few years to learn how to build consistent cars. Thanks to DerbyDad4Hire products and help and this site we are finally starting to string together some wins.
