weight at wheels

I dont think there's a suggested weight at the axles. Really it all depends on the weight pockets you have, weight placement and COG you want. Below is my ladder body I made for my Leader Scout PWD race. I put 12 1/4" tungsten weight all the way in the rear and 10 1/4" tungsten weights just in front of the rear axle with the odd number more on the DFW side. This has a COG of just under 3/4". I added no weight to the front of the car other than the axles, wheels and have a veneer on top and aluminum tape to cover the bottom.

Do you mean just on the dfw ? 3-touching like corner weight ?
IMO 35g is too much. ... For a scout car wheel base set up... I'd look for

Weight on the front...yes 3 touching. I tried getting it lower but I've shaved and trimmed all I can. Some of the weight is from stock weight BWA wheels and dd4h gee fenders.....not sure there is much left to cut out....ideas?

If you've built the car and can't move the weight there is not much you can do now but if your still working on the sub assembly
Look at "ask the pros" board for subject new car body.... That will give you an idea of what the body... Bare... Should weigh
Check your COM also ... If you have 35g on the DFW.... If your body is down around 15g ... bare ....then I'd say your COM is over 1" ... That is less than optimal

Here's my delimma. ..The car had run a 2.993 on a 42' fast track before I manipulated it. My son wanted fenders so we added those and shaved weight from the front to counter balance the fender weight. Then I shaved out the center of the body and added more weight to the back....just can't seem to get it where I'm happy....The thing is....we placed overall 2nd in district with a 3.05 car. I'm just concerned I've screwed up that 2.993 time with altering it.....I do have a fall back faster car BUT don't want to disappoint my son. We loves this car....

Yes....they were on the same track. I think I have resolved the issue. I have gutted the middle lead weight and ordered a Jewkes Sweet Spot 2 and by my calculations it should put everything distributed exactly where I want it.....only fine tuning once that arrives. Thanks for all yalls help! Love to learn from the best!

Lucky I guess....but thanks! Should be less than 25 once I'm done this time. Calm has finally visited me! Now the wait is on till the race March 8th...District 15th.
