I normally put about 1.5 oz behind the axle the rest in front, tungsten cubes. I try to put the cubes even from side to side. I read where someone said to put more weight on the dominant side of the car does this make a differance and why. I do not have a track to test on.

Your three wheels form a triangle. You want the COM of the car to fall within the triangle. This is usally not a problem. Derby Dad has dropped a few hints about off setting the weight. There must be some speed to be found. Since you do not have a track perhaps offset only a cube or two until you find evidence of a more drastic change is helpful.

Here is a picture of the triangle that exists on every PWD car (that rides on three wheels).

There are some tracks that are very long that benifit from a center car weighting. In those cases moving the weight towards the DFW is required. In more normal cases not required but perhaps some speed if you can unleash it.

Thanks for the picture & explanation.... I read this question and went to look at some of the racers showing some set ups. I did notice they set weights to the one side verses centered. With this picture it just made it really easy to see why..

Thanks V

Keep it at 5/8s and the weight will be in the triangle already. The advice to move over the weight did not include how much or how far and would require experiment. I would consider moving one or two cubes over insead of cenering them. It would take testing to narrow it down further.
