WEIGHT PLACEMENT

Placing weight in my sons cub car I have heard alot of different theories. I have heard as High and farback as possible ..I have heard low and just in front of rear axle. I have heard a little more complex option using 3 scales(which I don't have). I have hollowed the entire bottom of his car out with exception of axle slots . I am using tungsten weights and std wheel base as required by pack. If I place the 2.4 oz behind the rear axle and 1.2 oz just in front of the rear axle... the car will balance at about 3/4 inch in front of rear axle. ANY THOUGHTS

Because of weight of the car body and wheels I have about 3.25-3.50 I can add... 24 cubes =4 oz so about 12 in back compartment 6-7 in front?

If you have the weight pocket in back filled, and you have a 3/4" CoM, you're looking good.

As to the ideal placement of the weight, you want to maximize how far the weight has to go down. So that means as far back and as *low* as you can get it (and still be stable).

The back pocket I an get 12 in there easily and at 1/2 inch in front of back axle I can add 6 should I go ahead and glue those in? Am I too aggressive since I am limited to just over 3 oz. with 2/3's in the back or does it matter since my COG is at 3/4

Thanks ... even with just over 3 oz total add weight am I still o with 2/3 in back pocket regardless as long as my com stays 3/4

3/4 COM is pretty safe. You start getting very squirrely pushing 1/2".

I cant get to 1/2 unless I was to put nearly all 18. in the rear pocket. The underbody is hollowed up to 1/2 inch in front of the axle. I am contemplating gluing the weight to the axle wall.
