What are the steps for cub scout races?

If it is something you want, looks like the door is open. It only takes a spark.. If you decide to procede, We know a guy that has a lot of insight in putting on big council races.

I'd love to have a council race, but I don't want to be in charge. I did a similar thing with the Fishing derby in my town/city with a population of over 100,000 people. I asked about it and guess who is in charge of it now? Don't get me wrong, I enjoy fishing a lot and seeing kids catch their first fish, but I inquired because I wanted to do something with my kids. Now that I'm in charge I don't get to do anything with my kids at the event because I'm running all over making sure the event is a success.

I don't want to do that with a council derby race too.
