What does a out of the box bsa wheel weigh?

Just weighed one on mine and scale said 3.0 grams. Are my scales off or is this normal?
I have some wheels here and was going to try to build a car for the basx race. Might as well play in that class if I can get wheels done in time. I don't think my scales are right for some reason.

Thanks cycrunner for your time. I am checking my scales and going to to reweigh it again. Trying to see how much I can turn this down. Just don't trust my old scales. But it says my car weighs 5 oz. and John has not said anything so it might b right.

I have modified BSA wheel on my lathe to 2.0 and even down to 1.0 grams. When you get to thinning them this much to make the 1.0 gram wheels you need to run the rears reversed. If you run them normally the thin tread will deflect and slow the car. They run super quiet this way, but slow!

I've weighed probably over two hundred BSA wheels. Most will weigh 2.6 grams. You'll have a few at 2.5, and fewer still will weigh 2.7 g.

Ok a nickel is 5.0 grams. My scales or ok. Kinsers two cents is worth one penny!! Haha could not stand it. Had to do that kinser. Basx car is being built. Why not?
