Does this mean that the wheels need to be configured in a rectangular shape when viewed from above?

I think it means that the Non-dominant wheel can't be laying on top of the car, it can only be raised.

I saw a car on go ask grandpa that had staggered wheels.

I interpret this as the front axel and wheels and the rear axel and wheels on both sides of the car being directly across one another, such that a line drawn between the front axels holes is perpendicular (90 degrees) to the long axis of the car body and same for the rears...this would mean having 3 wheels on one side of the car and 1 on the other is illegal....it also suggests that you cant have two wheels on one side all the way at the back of the car and two wheels on the other side all the way at the front of the car, and agree with the above, no staggering.....so yes to your description of the rectangular shape....but I guess it could also be square if you want a short wheelbase! And obviously no replacing NDFW wheel with a guidepin.

If this is different from what others interpret please post! Wasnt there a car at the Mid-America race that had 3 wheels on one side of the car and only one on the other?

the 45 degree thing just allows you to take one wheel and intall it such that it angles up off the track but if you look fron the front of the car, the angle is not more than 45 degrees from the standard position. Otherwise one could just glue it flat on top the car LOL....Now whether or not there is more speed with this position than just the standard postion is up for debate!

You can use a guide pin. But the rules still apply if you do. I have seen cars with them in SS, very creative.

I was going to ask if this would be possible to be run in another class, but I figured out on my own that there would be no class in which it would make any sense.
