Placed an order at DD4H today. What did I forget? Here's what I ordered. We will be building 3 cars for a Powderpuff derby race.

Silver Bullet
Dynasty BASX Pro wheels x 3
Precision Carbide drill bit size 44
Zero friction graphite lube
Red Rocket wheel bore polish
Zero Friction Pro wheel bore polish #1
We will be using axles from the kits

Thanks for any additional suggestions!

If you get the Wheel Bore Polishing Kit and the Axle Polishing Kit you will be complete!
For that, don't I need just the fluffy pipe cleaners and the q-tips from Walgreen's? Or is there something I'm missing?

You need talent to put it all together.

The last time I looked at my walgreens, they didn't carry their own brand name anymore..

The Walgreens by me carries a brand called Studio 35. MOST of the swabs in a pack of 375 pcs are the right size. Some are larger than i want. I just check through a new box with a caliper, I keep the ones that are good and give the rest to the wife.

The studio qtip are walgreen's brand now. Like great value is walmarts.

If you have to choose I would get the axle polish kit before any bore polish. Only local place that I found that has the high grit sandpaper was Hobbylobby. Getting the burs filed off and the axle polished to a mirror finish will give the biggest speed jump.

I have the axle polish materials, up to 2000 grit sandpaper. Do you guys generally go beyond that?
I'm more curious about the wheel bore polishing, which I was going to get the Walgreen's q tips to do. Is there a way other than a caliper to pick out the ones that will work, or would it be better for me to just get the wheel bore polish kit from dd4h?
I'm excited for our builds this year! My younger daughter won the overall trophy for speed for the last two years and we need to defend her title. This year I'm hoping my older daughter wins it though. I think the other dads are tired of us winning it so it may be more competitive, so we need to step it up and bring it!

3m polishing paper is super handy, I'm sure there are more elaborate ways but they make a 4k to 8k n it looks good under magnification

When I get the wheel bore polishing kit, does it come with the Red Rocket Xtreme Wheel Bore Polish? It says Red Rocket Wheel Bore Polish #2... Are they the same thing?

Hobby Lobby has a detail kit that goes up to 14k grit. I use the 40% off one item coupon and get it for like $4. Then I also bought Brasso for the final finish with a scrap piece of leather.

Thanks for the tip! A HL opened up near us recently, so I'll check for it when I'm out tomorrow.
