Jig is a lubricant to be sprayed on the axles, but only for oil (not graphite). However BE CAREFUL. Once you spray it on the nails, it must sit for several hours to let the liquid evaporate. Put the axles on a small board, and immediatly after spraying, tap the board to allow the excess Jig to drop off. Also, blow off the Axles with compressed air to be sure there are no hairs or other small items on the axles (this is important).The Liquid will ruin the wheel bores if it is still wet. 4 hours should be enough. This is done as the last step in axle prep, prior to mounting the wheels. So that means all the previous axles steps must have been completed. It really works well, and all the league racers use it. Jig is sometimes hard to come by. Go to Ace Hardware, but they usually will have to order it. BTW, be sure to shake the can well b4 spraying it.
I don't think DD4H has let the cat out of the bag. I let the sprayed axles dry for 15 to 20 mins. before I place them in the bore. Once you have sprayed the axles with jig don't touch them with your fingers except at the end that goes into the car and make sure to place them in a stand so they will be straight up and down. I use a old car body that I drilled 3/32 holes in top of to hold the axles while they dry. Also keep them in a clean dust free area while drying.
+1 The cat is not out of the bag. 15 min dry time for me. I just dust my axles with it. I also am one the the thinking that at times less is more.
