Anyone have any Sage advice before I embark on my first wheel and axle prep to run oil for this weekend?

Cheetah V3, with 92 grooved axles.

This will also be my first run with fenders on my car aptly named "Fresh Meat".

If you have the DVD, follow it Xactly! Also, get some type of magnifying glass to check for fuzz and dirt in your wheel bores and on the axles. I would also add that you spend ample time on your alignment...that is where I seem to have the most difficulties!!! Best of luck to you!

+1 on following the DVD exactly.

Be sure there is ample clearance between the fender and wheel. Also, make sure the lower insides of the fenders have enough clearance to avoid center rail contact and don't let your fenders hang down too low where they can contact the track surface. Fenders can be tedious, I still make mistakes when I do them.

Thanks GravityX.

What's the consensus on which side of the leather to use against the axle in the last step with the axle polish?

The hair side(outside) or the gut site(inside)?

I use the inside and noticed this side will absorb more polish, initially, than the smooth side of the leather strop. The smooth side didn't seem to hold the polish well, in my experience.

The axles are looking quite nice using dad's axle polishing kit.

What's the best way to polish the outer and inner hub on the wheels? (likely not enough time for this race, but would love to hear what others are doing - since it was not covered in DVD).
