Is it allowed to use axle bushings ( solid bushing. I’m not asking about ball bearings ) in any class other than unlimited? The following rule prohibiting foreign material seems to eliminate bushings in BASX classes. But there is no such rule in scout, pro or eliminator classes. What do you guys think?

h. The wheels can be trued to get to the 2.4 gram weight but they are not to be cut down intentionally under the weight limit and use foreign material to bring it back to weight.

Which league?

I was asking about PinewoodDerbyRacing.com but also interested in npwdrl. Thanks for any info you can provide.
At NPWDRL bushings are a prohibited item in basx. It's under "modifications not allowed" subsection E.
Not sure about PDR.

Stick with 2.4g wheels for BASX "no fenders or air shields"
2.0g for you cars with fenders & shields.
All the leagues have a bracket for those... Just get your feet wet first, It's easy to get off track in the beginning.
I would suggest working around the BASX setup till you get that down in the 2.97 or 8's.
You'd be better off building 6 BASX cars, anything else is kind of counterproductive with your time & money.

Good Luck, Jup

Now that the scout race is over, I’ve begun work on a BASX car... Build 6 of them?

It might only take 2 or 3. Build 1 then beat it
It took me a dozen before they started getting quick but I was building the same bad stuff over & over.
My first few were truly bad, I'm just suggesting get on top of the straight forward build & prep process then move forward.
Their not that much better now.

I’m sure I’ll finish at the back of the pack. I have no illusions about that. Hopefully, speed will come as I gain experience
