Wheel Cap??

I am not sure if this question should be in this forum or general building? But who better to ask than the pros. Has anyone seen or used a wheel cap on their raised wheel? Does it help to shave off some time by keeping the air from inside of the wheel while racing? I seen a couple cars that had this done at our derby.

Thanks. It looked like the third wheel was spinning on the car as it ran. I wish I had found this forum before my son's derby race. I never would have thought to make the third wheel tight to the car. That's why I love it here. There is so much information here to absorb. Thanks again.

I use a cover on all my non dominate wheels. I have tested with it, sometimes it helps sometimes it doesn't. It has never hurt though.

Derby Mom. That's funny! I did see her version of it and thought it was funny how she gives away her version of the Pro's secrets. I am just looking to improve on our three wheel cars. I want to try canting on my next car.

The easiest way I found to do it is grind the center hub down as close as you can to the same level as the outer lip. Stick the tape to the wheel use a razor can cut around the outer lip of the wheel. Then just shove the nail through the hole and your done!

Or use a piece of slightly thick cellophane -- all else same as above
