I am not sure if this question should be in this forum or general building? But who better to ask than the pros. Has anyone seen or used a wheel cap on their raised wheel? Does it help to shave off some time by keeping the air from inside of the wheel while racing? I seen a couple cars that had this done at our derby.
Thanks.

Thanks. It looked like the third wheel was spinning on the car as it ran. I wish I had found this forum before my son's derby race. I never would have thought to make the third wheel tight to the car. That's why I love it here. There is so much information here to absorb. Thanks again.

It depends on how the car is set up. I haven't use one in about 3-4 years.

I use a cover on all my non dominate wheels. I have tested with it, sometimes it helps sometimes it doesn't. It has never hurt though.

Thanks. Where can you get the covers at?

Did you learn this from Derby mom???

Kinda weird but sometimes it slows me down and sometimes it speeds me up.

Derby Mom. That's funny! I did see her version of it and thought it was funny how she gives away her version of the Pro's secrets. I am just looking to improve on our three wheel cars. I want to try canting on my next car.

The easiest way I found to do it is grind the center hub down as close as you can to the same level as the outer lip. Stick the tape to the wheel use a razor can cut around the outer lip of the wheel. Then just shove the nail through the hole and your done!

Thanks for explaining that to me. I was getting ready to ask you how it was done. Before I forget, good luck on the pinks race.

Or use a piece of slightly thick cellophane -- all else same as above
