This is my son's last race as a cub scout. Do any of you have a preference on wheel gaps? I have completely drawn a blank on last year's wheel gap. I know tighter the better.

I think we set the wheel gaps last year with a business card, so probably somewhere around .006"

Thank you. Are you league racing yet?

No not yet ...still contemplating, but too many hobbies and other things keep getting in the way. Coaching Robotics has consumed a lot of time also. I have found it amazing how much physics plays a role in the Robotics also.

I have been busy playing mentor to various Cub Scouts and teaching them about physics. I will say that every Cub we have helped build since 2017 has not lost a race unless it was to another Cub that we helped. That includes 3 different districts. I guess that we are getting somewhat Scout fast ...however, I am sure we are still very "Pro Slow"!

That's great! Yeah know what you mean. I feel we are that way as well.
I wish our scout pack was interested in physics aspect of building derby cars. The majority of our scout parents don't take the time to get involved. I'm not bragging but my son has taken the overall Champions trophy home four years in a row. We obsess over every detail hoping that there will be other competition. It seems like only one maybe two cars barely come close to what my son's cars run out of a pack of 35 kids. It is always the same two. We are going to give some of his winning cars to the pack to take apart in the hope it will spark there interests.
I'm getting close to giving it a shot I don't think my son will race since he is Arrow of Light now. We have our district race in two weeks then he said he is done. Dad's turn I guess.
