Does anyone use rubbing alcohol to clean wheels between polish steps? Ive seen a lot of people using water with dawn and then watered down car wash.
Thoughts?

Not sure what polish steps you are referring to, but I do clean up the wheels after polishing the bores and before moving on to the hubs. For me, polishing bores is only one step.
So I am curious to here what the gurus say. I do know this but take it as only 2 cents worth... the only time I have heard alcohol used was cleaning old Jig a Loo and oil off axles during re-preps.
Otherwise it’s always just Dawn for wheels. I’m in my first year league racing over at APR and just follow what they do and advise. Never heard alcohol mentioned for cleaning wheels in between prep steps.
Edit: I see guys have posed while I write this. Listen to what they have to say. Best advice I can give.
I don't use alcohol for anything but removing sharpie from plastic. If you want to strip your wheels and start prep from scratch, use dawn and warm water. If you just want to clean them but keep your prep, use a mild car wash solution.
